Recertification

Recertification Fee: $995.00

Designees must complete PBIA approved recertification course of eight (8) contact hours during each two (2) year recertification cycle. Contact hours can only be applied to the recertification cycle in which they are completed and will not be attributed to future certification periods.

CPBS designee’s must maintain their own records of their recertification period and are responsible for maintaining these records for at least two (2) years after the certification cycle ends.

CPBS recertification course materials consists of a training guide, six session recordings and eight supplemental reading assignments. Recertification is self-paced and must be completed within 45 days upon receipt of the recertification fee.

The final exam is administered upon completion of the slides with a passing grade of 85% required for recertification. If a retake exam is required, the final exam score is determined by calculating the average score of each exam (i.e. 1st exam (80%) + 2nd exam (90%) = 85% final examination score).

Practice quizzes and exam preparation tests will be made available and are optional. If the designee for recertification has a passing grade, an updated certification will be issued. All materials supplied to the program become property of the Program once submitted.

Designees will be decertified upon the expiration date (two years from issuance date on most recent certificate) of their certification if they fail to apply for recertification and meet recertification criteria. Designees are encouraged to apply for recertification and pay the re-certification fee at least ninety (90) days prior to the expiration of their certification. Designees who become decertified must stop using the CPBS credential immediately.
